Sadness

I'm so sad right now. Maybe I'm making too much out of it, but I was so hoping to see the 'E' kids on Sunday. I haven't seen Ethan and Erynn for 3 weeks when they went back to North Carolina with their uncle. I threw a fit about them going, which did no good, but I lived through those 3 weeks and was so looking forward to Sunday. Erick didn't want to go to NC, so he stayed here the first week, then he had to go with his Dad and has been there for 2 weeks. Now their Dad and I use that word lightly decides he is not going to be able to go and get them tomorrow because he has to work, so those poor kids have to stay in NC for one more week. I know they were looking forward to coming home and seeing their Mom. I know they must be homesick and I can hardly stand to think about it. This will make FOUR weeks being away from their Mom and Dad and especially me!! Tony is mad about it too, but he knows we can't do anything about it so he just wants me to cheer up and get over it.....but I can't just 'get over it'. I talked to them on the phone earlier and I guess they were alright, but I know they are homesick. Hearing their voices made me even sadder, but I want them to know how much I miss them. I know I need to get myself together and just be ready for them to come home and I may not let them out of my sight ever again!! I think I will have to fight their Mom and T-pa in order to keep them all to myself!!!

Hometown Swap

I participated in a Hometown swap for the first time. It was created by Shannon @ Welcome to the Nut House! It's a swap where people from one part of the country send gifts to people who have never been to that part. I was very excited about what I received. It came from Leigh Anne from Virginia. If you are reading this Leigh Anne, please send me a link to your blog!

Here are the things that I received:
There are 'Legendary' peanuts from Viginia Diner, an institution in the Commonwealth.

The Best of Virginia Farms Cookbook and Tour Book.

Big Stone Gap by Adriana Trigiani, book on CD. Here is what she said about this book....Big Stone Gap is the town closest to Pennington Gap, about 10 minutes up the road from Leigh Anne. The author is a former writer on The Cosby Show, and a native of Big Stone. This book will be made into a movie, rumored to be starring Sandra Bullock. Leigh Anne is going to try to be an extra in the movie because a lot of it will be filmed in her hometown.

Homemade soap from Totla Bliss Gourmet.

Thank you so much Leigh Anne....I love it!!

Happy Birthday to them!!

Today is Lacy's birthday....she is 23 years old!! She shares her birthday with her cousin Calor....he is 13 years old today!!

First about Lacy......she is a nurse and is about to go back to work for the cardiologist she used to work for. She is engaged to Ignacio and they have a sweet baby boy Jacob....who is 12 weeks old today...but not 3 months yet....ummmm....I don't know how that works out! Anyway, Lacy is really smart She was the co-valedictorian for her nursing school a few years ago. She is very organized and particular about the ways things are done.....she doesn't get that from me!! She is a very positive person and hardly ever says negative things. She is a good mother and adores Jacob!! I'm very proud of her!! I'm going today to stay with her for a week so that I can keep baby Jacob while she works. He will start his daycare next week. Here are some picures of her.....

Calor is 13 today....let's just hope he doesn't start acting like a teenager just yet!! He is always most of the time in a good mood. He loves sports....any kind, but he really likes baseball. Even when he was little and came to my house he would want to watch a baseball game on tv instead of the Disney channel or some other kid show. He has one more year in JH and then on the HS. That's hard to believe! He's very smart, also.....I guess it runs in the family!! :)
Calor also loves to go fishing. He and Ethan can go to the park and stay all day and not even take a lunch break. We have to make them stop and eat. So here are a few pictures of Calor....I couldn't find many of when he was little, however.

New Baby

Jacob is no longer the newest member of the family.......
He is...........

Here is the story........

Yesterday, Tony went to Lubbock to play golf in the company golf tournament. I usually go with him each year, but this year I didn't get to go because I was still recovering from my procedure and I knew I couldn't ride to Lubbock and back so soon.

Anyway, he got home around 8. He wanted me to go with him to Wal-mart to get dog food and then to the farm and feed all of the dumb bird dogs, cows, goat and a horse. So he fed all of the animals and noticed that one cow was missing. He knew that she was going to have a baby so he figured she was hiding somewhere. So we started looking and she wasn't in the farm, but outside of the gate and down the dirt road a little bit. As we drove up on her, we noticed that she had a baby calf. He was just born because she was still getting the stuff off of him.

We are in the Expedition because Tony's pickup was acting up...... we had to get them back in the fence, so we go back to the barn, get some old sacks and go back to get the cow and her baby. Tony had to pick up the calf, and put him in the back of my Expedition......yuk!!......and he sat with her with the back open and tried to get the cow to follow us. Well...she got ahead of us, so he got in the driver's seat and was herding this cow back in the pen, while this baby calf was just sitting in the back of the car.......he was driving all over the road trying to keep her from running off. After a while he finally got her to go in the pen and then he carried the baby in there with her.

We he had to fix the fence so no other cows would get out, so he put a big piece of fence on the hitch of my car and I had to drag it back to the front gate so that he could fix it.....talk about redneck!!......It was 10:30 at night by this time, but he got it fixed enough so that they couldn't get back out.

He had on his good golf clothes because he was planning on only feeding the dogs, but as usual, it didn't work out that way. So those clothes are ruined....

All turned out well...the cow finally let the calf eat and she's very protective of him. We just got back from the farm to check on him and Erick was going to get in the pen to see him and the mother cow started after him....just like any mother would do if she thought someone was going to harm her baby.

Well....now I'm off to clean out the Expedition!!

Randomness

I haven't blogged in a while. I've been thinking about it, but I never just sit down to do it. So I thought I would just post about some random things that have been going on since my last post.

The end of school was only a couple of weeks ago. I was in charge of 2 graduations in Chillicothe...the 8th grade and the HS. Both went off pretty well, if I do say so myself. I had two nephews that graduated from Wellington that week also.
This is Jarod and Kody with their uncle Tony.

With the end of school came a lot of awards ceremonies, playdays and lots of celebrations. I didn't get to go to any of them, but I have pictures anyway.

This is Ethan with his teacher. This was his last day in Elementary school. It's hard to believe that I'm old enough to have a JH grandson!!

Here is Bailey and some of her friends at playday.

This is Erick and friends at playday.

This is Erynn and her class with their Bobcat stars at playday.(she is the one right next to the HS boy in blue) The little kids really have fun and look up to the high school kids. It's a good program that has been going on for years now.

Lacy is going back to work for her cardiologist on Monday. I'm going to stay with her for a week so that I can keep Jacob and help her get back in the swing of things. She found him a daycare today that he will be going to the next week, but until then, I'll have him all to myself all next week!!

I also had a angiogram this week. I'm still recovering from it. I'm better, but still a little sore. They didn't find any blockage so I didn't have to have a stint, which was very good news. It's so strange how that they can give you meds and you don't remember a thing that they did to you. I remember being in the operating room and this one man asking me where I was from and then the next thing I know, I'm back in my room. I've been lying around for 3 days now and am ready to get back to doing things. I think tomorrow, I'll be ok.

The week after school was out, Ethan and Erynn went to North Carolina with their aunt and uncle. I just about had a fit over that because I found out they would not be back for 3 weeks! I just can't stand to be without them for that long and that is a long way to go without either Mom or Dad. I've talked to them a few times and Erynn has a Myspace that I talk to her on. I keep telling her that if they get homesick, I'll come and get them. She wrote me back yesterday and said 'Nana, I told you 1000 times that I was not going to get homesick!'. So I guess I'll quit worrying about them. I still miss them though and I hope they come home sooner than expected.

I have two trips planned this summer. For our 3oth anniversary, Tony and I are going to Branson. We are driving and stopping wherever we want and are going to do whatever we want. I can't wait!! In August we are all going to Six Flags to take all of the kids. That will be fun, too, but probably scorching hot!!

I know this is a long post and if you are still reading, you need a medal!! Hope you all have a great summer!!
